MEDIEVAL WITCH

Medieval WitchYOU WILL NEED

• 79 x 43 ¼ inches cotton fabric- Black
• Ruler
• white pencil
• scissors
• Needle
• Black thread
• Newspaper
• Paintbrush,
• Silver paint
• 16 ½ x 23 ¼ inches sheet of thin black card
• 12 ½ x 12 ½ inches sheet of thin black card
• Scotch tape
• Silver card- small piece
• White glue
• Glue brush
• Tissue paper- green and black

Method:

STEP 1
Black fabric should be halved widthwise. Place it on a plane surface. Use a white pencil to draw the shape of the dress of witch on to the fabric.

step 1

STEP 2
Cut the dress shape out. Cut 9 ½ inches slit right in the middle of the crinkled edge for your neck. Again, cut another 4 ½ inches long slit down the back of the fabric.

step 2

STEP 3
The fabric should be turned inside out. Stitch up each side of the witch’s dress using needle and some thread. Don’t forget to sew under the arms of the dress as well.

step 3

STEP 4
Cut a jagged edge along the cuffs of each sleeve and same applies for the bottom portion of the dress. To hide the stitches turn it inside out

step 4

STEP 5
Use an old newspaper to lay the dress. Plunge a brush in silver paint. Spray paint onto the fabric pulling the bristles back towards you. Spray the other side when it is dried.

step 5

STEP 6
To form the shape of a cone, roll the rectangle of thin, black card. To show where it overlaps you should use a white pencil to draw a shape on the card.

step 6

STEP 7
Throw away the excess card and make a cone shape rolling the card. Use scotch tape to secure it. To fit the size of your head trim the bottom rim of the cone.

step 7

STEP 8
Put the hat on the square black card. To draw a rough circle around the rim which is about 2 inches away from it, use the white pencil. Now, it’s time to draw a second circle to fit accurately and precisely around the edge of the hat.

step 8

STEP 9
Cut roughly around the outer surface of the ring. Cut out the center to leave an extra 1 3/16 inches within the white line ring. To make little tabs, tear the ring as far as the line.

step 9

STEP 10
The rim of the hat should be fitted onto the base of the cone-shaped part. Crease the tabs up within the hat. To fix the brim to the hat employ tiny sections of sticky tape.

step 10

STEP 11
To make a hat buckle, sketch a rectangular shape onto the silver card. A second rectangle should be drawn inside the first one. Cut the buckle out. Then attach it onto the front of the hat using glue.

step 11

STEP 12
To make witch’s hair, green and black tissue sheets have to be cut into long strips. Leave a gap at the front by the buckle and attach the strips completely around the inside of the hat of the witch by glue.

step 12
