Sukkot in 2023 will start on Friday, 29 September and will continue for 7 days until Friday, 6 October.
Sukkot, one of the most important Jewish festivals, begins on Tishri the 15th, which is the 5th day after Yom Kippur.
It is a joyous festival, marked with celebrations, and in stark contrast to the more solemn ones like Yom Kippur.
It is also known as Zeman Simkhateinu, or the season of rejoicing, and the word Sukkot means booths. Indeed, the Sukah is the most important icon of this event.
