Christmas is here and so is the wonderful season of sharing gifts. Here's a beautiful craft idea-a flower basket hand woven in fancy ribbons and stuffed with winter flowers. So let's make our Christmas gifts special for all that we care for.
How to make
Take a close look at
the project picture and the working drawings to see how the drum needs to be vertically
cut. Note how there must be an equal number of cuts so that the ribbon starts
and finishes at the same slot.
when you know how the project needs to
be worked, take your chosen container and make sure that it is clean and dry.

Use
a strip of paper and pencil to divide the circumference of the drum up with an
equal number of vertical lines. Turn the drum over so that it is upside down,
then take the knife and work around the drum, making an equal number of of carefully
speed cuts.
Starting at the bottom of the drum and working upwards, ease
the ribbon in-and-out through the cut strips by pushing down on the plastic strip
with one hand and passing the ribbon through the other
when you come
to the end of a row, fix the ribbon ends on the inside of the container with pieces
of sticky tape, and go on to the next ribbon. Make sure that you change the weaving
order from row to row. e.g If you start the first row by going in-out ,be sure
to start the second row by going out-in.
Tips
Don't try to
pack the ribbons too tightly while weaving he ribbons in and out through the plastic
strips. Leave about 1/4 inch space between ribbon rows.
Find a water-tight
container to place inside the basket
Note;
Adult supervision is required if children are involved in making the craft.
