Apply your puncher to form a hole in the top right corner of the
calendar. Make a similar hole in the top left corner of your calendar.
Pass the string through the holes and tie the loose ends into a knot.
Your Jewish calendar is ready. Dangle it from a suitable position in
your room so that it can come handy when you need it!
Paper Mache Shofar
Materials needed:
1) Paper towels - 7-8.
2) Aluminum foil
3) Newspaper - 10.
4) Poster paints or markers
5) Glue
Instructions:
Tear the newspapers into small rectangular strips (about 2" wide and
4" long). Immerse these completely in a large bowl container with 3/4
parts glue & 1/4 parts water. Leave the solution for about six hours,
stirring occasionally.
Rub the paper strips together to prepare a paper mache paste.
Roll 5-6 paper towels together to form a horn-like structure.
Wrap the horn completely with the aluminium foil and shape like a
shofar.
Cover the surface of the foil shofar completely with 2-3 layers of
paper mache. Leave it for 3-4 hours.
Cut the shofar in half before the mache dries fully. Remove the foil
and again let the shofar dry.
When the shofar has dried, apply glue to fix back the two halves.
Allow it to dry for 3-4 hours more.
When it has completely dried, embellish your papaer mache shofar
using the poster paints or markers you have.
